Ohio PIRG staff were at Ohio University in February to show the documentary on credit card debt entitled Maxed Out. Illinois PIRG staff joined the Illinois Treasury Secretary to push back against campus credit card marketing on campus. Check out the photos here!

The Truth About Credit campaign's recent survey, The Campus Credit Card Trap, and companion white paper, Characteristics of a Fair Campus Credit Card, outline campus credit card marketing practices on college campuses and assess the best terms and conditions on lines of credit for students. USPIRG's Christine Lindstrom testified to Congress in June, explaining the reports' results. Read the testimony. Watch C-SPAN coverage.
Victory on Credit Cards!
President Obama recently signed into law strong legislation, called the “Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure (CARD) Act”, that will halt the most egregious abuses by the credit card industry. This is a big victory for students and all consumers.
